Site description
The park and pier are named for Les Davis, a well-known Tacoma sportsman and founder of a local fishing-tackle business, and the reef beneath the water is just as locally sourced — WDFW built it from salvaged concrete decking off the old Tacoma Narrows Bridge, piled into slabs that now double as a legally designated octopus preserve. Sitting near the mouth of the Puyallup River gives the site a freshwater lens and heavier silting than most Puget Sound dives, which tempers visibility but hasn't stopped it from being a dependable rockfish and GPO spot a short, flat walk from the parking lot.
Not a navigational chart. Positions are drawn illustratively from pnwdiving.com's site briefing over a real satellite still (Web Mercator, true scale) — good for orientation and dive-brief planning, not for plotting a GPS track. Features move; confirm on site. The reference current station is 3 miles away and runs Narrows-scale — stronger than this current-protected site actually feels.
